Hail Damage Roof Repair
Hail bruises roofs in ways that show up months later. We inspect shingle and metal roofs after hail, sort real damage from normal wear, and document what matters, so you're not left wondering about the roof over your head.
What hail damage really looks like
On an asphalt shingle, hail damage is a bruise: a soft, dark spot where the impact crushed the granules into the mat underneath. The granules wash off, the mat is exposed to sun, and the shingle ages fast right there. It's easy to miss from the ground and easy to confuse with normal wear, which is why hail inspections reward experience.
On metal, hail leaves dents. Most dents on quality panels are cosmetic and the roof keeps performing, which is one of the reasons we install so much metal here. But dents on thin-gauge accessories, vents, and flashings can matter, and cosmetic damage can still be a valid claim depending on your policy.
We inspect the whole system after hail: shingles or panels, soft metals like gutters and vents that record the true hail size, and the collateral surfaces adjusters look at. You get photos and a plain answer, including when the answer is that your roof is fine.

Bruises, not holes
Shingle hail damage is usually a soft bruise that fails later, not a visible hole today.
Soft metals tell the truth
Dented vents and gutters record the hail size and direction, and adjusters read them that way.
Honest calls
If it is wear and tear, we say so. A padded hail claim helps nobody.
Good to know
Frequently asked questions
How can I tell hail damage from normal shingle wear?
Hail bruises are randomly scattered soft spots with crushed granules, often with matching dents in gutters and vents. Wear is even and concentrated in high-traffic water paths. An inspection settles it quickly.
Does hail ruin a metal roof?
Rarely. Most hail dents on residential metal panels are cosmetic and the roof keeps shedding water for decades. We check the accessories and flashings, which are thinner and matter more.
